Menlo Park – Meet Our Neighbors

During the process of making our dream of owning an RV park a reality, we worked closely with the Menlo Park Neighborhood Association.  The hope was that they would see how nice we could make an otherwise eyesore property into something nice.  And something that could possibly bring financial gain to their family and friends.  Some of which have lived in Menlo Park for most, if not all, of their lives.  We wanted them to love us as much as we loved the property…and they did.

We are so excited to be a part of a neighborhood that is considered the “birthplace of Tucson”.  It was originally developed for Euro-Americans but became the most upscale Mexican barrio with such architecture as Colonial Revival, Bungalow, post-war Ranch, Modern, and Prairie Style.

Menlo Park sits at the foot of A Mountain and Tumamoc Hill to the west and has a beautiful skyline view of downtown to the east.  With the streetcar beginning operation last year, it is THE place to live (or RV), being literally walking distance to the first stop heading to all four districts along the line.  Which means Sentinel Peak RV Park has the same advantage.

But you don’t have to travel far to find local flair as well as daily conveniences while at our park.  In just a few steps you can get your grocery supplies, a bottle of wine (or two), fresh tortillas, a local favorite deli called Eegees or a local renowned chili dog from Pat’s.  For those with pets or children, Menlo Park is immediately across the street featuring a pool and water park, lots of grass area and a playground.

Menlo Park has really spread its wings and created the Mercado San Agustin Public Market.  Mercado San Agustin is THE only public marketplace in Tucson.  It is a beautiful old-world courtyard and features a diverse selection of innovative local shops, restaurants and a weekly farmers market.  Mercado is at the first streetcar stop right down the road from Sentinel Peak RV Park – walking distance.  How about a fresh bakery good for breakfast, a nice dinner under the stars, a day of shopping and many other options…all within walking distance (or a free shuttle ride) from our park.
